How to Stay Young
How is it that some people appear to stay younger than others? Are they just lucky or is it a reflection of the work and habits they implemented, or invested, in themselves. I'm not one to believe in luck, rather I like to think that we reap what we harvest. Why not harvest better years from your body and stay younger than those who choose not to bother?
How many times do we meet people who are young in calendar years but whose attitude makes them appear much older. We all have heard it said of someone that they were born old and if they were not, they quickly became old before they turned thirty!
Age is really an attitude of mind, rather than a number on a piece of paper. There is a wonderful child like quality in every one that appreciates a beautiful rainbow or a colourful butterfly. What a shame it is when this quality gives over to materialistic attitudes and worries about our daily needs. Let us define some goals that will help us stay young, both in body and in spirit.
Keep fit! Embark on a lifetime of gentle exercise and keep to the rules that you set for yourself. You know that exercise produces chemicals that help fight disease, keep you relaxed and feeling better. Exercise is the best thing you can do to ward off depression, maintain weight and keep you immunity kicking along.
Have a regular pattern of sleep. This is essential for replenishing your store of energy. Keep to a sensible weight by eating correctly. As you get older, reduce the amount of food that you eat as you will be needing less to maintain a lower metabolic rate.
Avoid alcohol except in small quantities. It ages one rapidly. Avoid smoking completely.
The nicotine hardens the arteries. Drink 6 glasses of water each day. This will help flush out toxins from the body. Did you know that drinking water more often can help keep weight down?
Dress younger than you are. Nothing makes us look and feel older than we are if we wear "old peoples' clothes". The fitter you keep, the younger you'll feel like dressing.
Think young. By this I mean that we must involve ourselves in the language and manners of the younger generation. We will then be able to socialise with people younger than ourselves and not feel that we are slipping behind in the generational gap.
When conversing with people older or younger than ourselves do not act in a condescending manner to them but rather treat them exactly as our equals in age. We will then not give the impression of being out of sync with time.
Be involved in a wide range of activities that involves meeting with people of all age groups.
Be as comfortable with talking to a very old person as with a very young person and encourage them to call you by your first name.
Do not be overly formal. This will place you clearly in a time frame that you do not want to be in. This includes using phrases that are clearly from the past and not in current usage by younger people.
Have regular medical and chiropractic check ups to ensure that your body is able to function at its peak efficiency. It will function well with regular service, just like your car. Your chiropractor can talk to you about nutrition, fitness, stretching and food supplements. Use your chiropractor as a resource to help you stay young, feel young and get the best out of your engine - it only has to keep you running for around 90 years!

Staying young and looking good is everybody's wish irrespective of our age. Whether you are in your twenties, thirties or midlife, you naturally wish to stay young and vibrant. Discover some valuable tips here to fulfill your wish in ageless living.
The first step is a simple and happy lifestyle. Be contented and thankful with who you are and what you have achieved. You should still have your ambition and goals to set the direction for your life, but realistic and achievable goals are important benchmark. The rightful way to look at life is; it is all about you and how you feel about yourself and not about if you are born rich or poor. It's not about a list of relationships you've been in, or your status in the world. It's about you.
The second step is eating right. It is important to understand that the quality of life ahead of you depends on how you care for your body today. A balanced diet is one with the right minerals, vitamins and proteins from the right sources of foods and eating right means eating regular meals of the right portion. The healthiest way to eat is by taking whole food, unprocessed, without added flavor, sugar and preservative. CUT DOWN ON SALT INTAKE as salt can push up your blood pressure and injure arteries. Salt deposits in the body can cause serious side effects; gout, kidney stone or gall bladder stone and even clogged blood veins.
CUT DOWN ON COFFEE AND TEA because they contain caffeine which dehydrate your body. Caffeine drains water from your body system resulting in sagging and wrinkled skin. It also elevates blood pressure and makes your heart work much harder.
REDUCT SUGAR INTAKE because sugar is the root cause of diseases like diabetes and even cancer. Diabetes develops slowly, springs on you suddenly and can result in the loss of limb, potency and even life. Sugar is known to promote growth of cancer cells.
AVOID CIGARETTES because cigarettes cause serious damage to your body and is a major threat to healthy skin. It robs your skin of oxygen and produces free radical which leads to premature aging. The most known side effect of cigarettes is of course cancer.
The third step is regular exercise. Regular exercise tones your body muscles, reduce body fat, fight disease and relieve depression, tension and stress. Do the exercise you like and weave it into your life on a regular basis. Vary the routine so that you don't burn out. Sneak exercise into your day whenever and wherever you can.
The final step is resting well. Sufficient sleep is important to you, otherwise you rob yourself of the chance to repair your body and mind.
It is possible to start doing something now to completely renew yourself. Eat well and exercise regularly and within a few months and you will be able to see some results. You will have stronger muscles, improved joints and mobility.Your heart gets stronger which pumps blood more efficiently without much strain on your body. You feel more energetic and vibrant. You will burn more calories, and so your body and muscles are firmer. With simple life, and sufficient rest, your body will be renewed, you feel better, happier, healthier and very importantly, younger.
Staying young and looking good is everybody's wish irrespective of our age. Whether you are in your twenties, thirties or midlife, you naturally wish to stay young and vibrant. Discover some valuable tips here to fulfill your wish in ageless living.
